Wisdom For This Time

Not all wisdom is transferable.  In fact, wisdom for one situation could be folly in another.  Why then is it that so many - and we Christians are the greatest offenders - assume the wisdom they have received is what everyone else "should" have if they were really, truly following and seeking God?  Aarrgghh!  It's so irritating to me!!!  It's a "permissive path" of condemnation.  I see friends being burdened - chained - by it all the time.  Sometimes - though a little less frequently over the years - I find myself chained by it too.

Christian Pharisees.  Oh, Lord, what have we become?

I'm in a new season these days.  And new seasons call for new wisdoms that can most purely be found at His feet, in His presence.  Jesus Christ, our Holy Father & the Spirit - they alone see clearly who we are, who we're not, and who we're created to be.
*
Within the Trinity - how unbelievable that we've been invited before them! - dwells all wisdom, all love, all that we need and can be depending on.  That is where I've found the wisdom I need for this new season.
Here are some decisions that have followed -->
  • Getting 8 hours of sleep
  • Delay starting work until 10:30 a.m.
  • That "delay" provides me with the opportunity to do three super important things well and unrushed
    • Be completely attentive to my children's morning needs & wants - undistracted by my own getting ready
    • Sharing life with my Lord
    • Exercise
  • Assume I'll be exhausted, empty, nothing left, completely poured out each day - which I can now freely do because I see how He's planned for my daily rest, refilling & refreshment ... As well as my weekly Sabbath Saturdays.
 *
Yes, the generalized wisdoms that led to the above adjustments in my heart & schedule can be shared by all.  But the specialized wisdoms?  The hows, wheres, whens?  Those are specific to you.  You and God.  And when someone else - like me - lives out different "specialized" wisdoms than you do, please give them the freedom in Christ to do so.  And, please give YOURSELF freedom in Christ to do the same!!

James 3:17
"But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere."

Tami...you are so right. In my last two posts I wrote about trying to figure some of these things out for muself. This made me feel free to decide what I need to, and not what I should.

Thank you!

I am so glad you are back! I missed your blogs during jury duty. I read a verse this morning and I thought of you,

Proverbs 24:25 "But it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come upon them."

On your topic of wisdom this verse lept out at me this morning: Proverbs 24:3-4 "By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures."
